Shookio Now Uses Stripe: An Easier Way to Get Paid for Your Jobs
Give customers a simple way to pay by card, whether they are standing beside you or away from home. Learn how Stripe payments work in Shookio.
You finish the job, pack up your tools, and head to the next stop. Then, later that night, you still have to message the customer about paying.
That last step can turn a finished job into another thing on your to-do list. We want to make it easier.
Shookio now uses Stripe to help your business accept customer card payments. You can collect a payment while you are with the customer, let them scan a QR code, or email them a payment link. You can also view receipts from paid jobs.

Connect your business’s Stripe account to start accepting customer payments through Shookio.
What is Stripe?
Stripe is a service that processes payments. It handles the card checkout when your customer pays. Shookio is where you manage the job and start the payment process.
Think of it this way: you use Shookio to organize the work, and Stripe handles the payment through its secure online checkout.
Three ways your customers can pay
1. Pay while you are there
If the customer is with you when the work is done, you can open the payment checkout and let them complete their payment. This gives you a way to handle payment before heading to your next job.
The customer enters their payment information into the online checkout. For this option, they do not need to swipe or tap a card on a card reader.
2. Scan a QR code
Show the customer the payment QR code. They scan it with their phone’s camera, open the checkout, and pay on their own phone.
This can be useful after a lawn cleanup, a house cleaning, or a handyman visit. The customer can review the amount and pay while you are still there.
3. Pay through an email link
Sometimes the customer is at work or away from home. You can email a payment link so they can open the checkout and pay without meeting you in person.
For a snow-removal crew, that could mean finishing a driveway and sending the payment link while the homeowner is still at work.
How this can help your business
Less payment follow-up. Giving customers a clear way to pay right after the job can reduce the back-and-forth about how to send the money.
More choice for customers. Someone who does not have cash or a check ready can pay by card. If they are not there, the email link gives them another option.
Easier record keeping. Being able to view receipts from paid jobs makes it easier to look back at a payment when a question comes up.
A smoother finish to the job. You have already put effort into doing good work. A straightforward payment process helps carry that same care through the last step.
A simple example
Say you run a pressure-washing business and finish a $225 driveway cleaning. The homeowner comes outside to check the work.
You open the payment option for the job and show them the QR code. They scan it, review the amount, and pay through Stripe. Once the payment succeeds, you can view the receipt for the paid job.
If the homeowner is away, you can email the payment link instead.
How to get started
Connect your business’s Stripe account through Shookio and complete the setup steps Stripe asks for. Once your account is ready to accept payments, you can use the payment options for your jobs.
Keep processing fees in mind. Stripe charges fees for processing payments. Check the rates that apply to your account before taking payments. You can read more on Stripe’s pricing page.
Make getting paid part of finishing the job
Whether you work alone or manage a small crew, collecting payment should be easy to explain and easy for your customer to do.
With Shookio and Stripe, you can give customers a clear next step: open the checkout, scan the code, or use the email link.
